Saffron Building Society was recently shortlisted in the ‘Best Specialist Lender’ category of the Mortgage Strategy Awards 2014.
Unfortunately, we didn’t win and there can only be one winner.
But in an industry consisting of more than 100 mortgage companies, being shortlisted as one of just five finalists in the specialist lender category was a major achievement. What’s more, Saffron was the only building society to make the cut. I think we have every reason to be pleased with ourselves.
It’s been less than a year since we announced the launch of Saffron For Intermediaries and revealed our Special Situations and Everyday Situations range of mortgages. Our proposition has been enthusiastically received by distributors and brokers and Saffron Building Society is now firmly established as one of the UKs leading specialist intermediary mortgage lenders.
In common with many success stories, this has been a team effort. The past 12 to 18 months has been a period during which we’ve not hesitated to go right back to basics. We’ve re-engineered our product range, our approach to underwriting, the level of service support we provide and our sales and marketing programmes. People from almost every department within the business have been involved and their combined effort has produced fantastic results.
The process of further enhancing the Saffron For Intermediaries proposition is ongoing. We have new products in the pipeline, we’re continuously making incremental service enhancements and we have an important technology project underway. As a lender, we are fully committed to the intermediary market.
And intermediaries have, of course, been fundamental to our success. Without the support of distributors and brokers, Saffron For Intermediaries would still be on the starting blocks.
2014 is shaping-up to be another exciting year for Saffron Building Society. You never know, it may be a year in which our journey takes us even closer to success in the mortgage industry Oscars!
